In the "Marais du Bessin et du Cotentin" Regional Park, Marie-José and James welcome you to their 18th century home. The castle is built upon the location of a 12th century fortress. Rebuilt in 1450, it was fully renovated in 1750 with the inclusion behind the building of a French garden with an orange-grove and pavilions; neglected over the years, the park gradually diissappeared. In 1980, a new garden was created, containing vivacious plants, shrubs and rose-bushes. The castle played a part in World War II, when it housed American war correspondents between June and July 1944. The present-day breakfast-room was then the main editing room.
